Introduction To Nitrogen Fertilizer

Nitrogen fertilizer refers to a unit fertilizer that uses nitrogen (N) as the main component and has a marked amount of N, which can provide plant nitrogen nutrition when applied to the soil. Nitrogen fertilizer is the fertilizer variety with the largest production and usage in the world; the appropriate amount of nitrogen fertilizer plays an important role in increasing crop yield and improving the quality of agricultural products. Nitrogen fertilizers can be divided into ammonia nitrogen fertilizers, ammonium nitrogen fertilizers, nitrate nitrogen fertilizers, ammonium nitrate nitrogen fertilizers, cyanamide nitrogen fertilizers and amide nitrogen fertilizers according to nitrogen-containing groups. The main raw material for the production of chemical nitrogen fertilizer is synthetic ammonia (the Haber process device for generating synthetic ammonia was built in 1909, and it was first industrialized in Germany and became the basis of the nitrogen fertilizer industry). In the 1940s and 1950s, ammonium sulfate was the most important nitrogen fertilizer variety. In the 1960s, ammonium nitrate was added; since the 1970s, urea has become the dominant nitrogen fertilizer. Ammonium bicarbonate was one of the main nitrogen fertilizer varieties produced in China in the 1980s.
